HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mummy!!! (8mo)

Filed under: Tristan — hannayumi @ 12:10 am

It’s amazing how fast our babies grow and develop from 6 months onwards.

One day Tristan could only slide backwards, less than 2 weeks later he could lift his upper body in a better crawling position, then suddenly on the 4th of November, he figured out how to coordinate his knees and hands, left and right, left and right. Boom, he was crawling! I was excited but at the same time worried to have a mobile toddler.

I was happy if it just stopped there, but he just learned to stand on his cot. On Sunday he could only kneel holding the cot top bar, on Monday he could fully stand. (Which means that it is time to lower the mattress.)

He has been so excited about everything he can do, that he doesn’t want to sleep anymore. He has never been the best of sleepers anyway. But now, when he cries in the middle of the night, you find him either in crawling position screaming or standing just waiting for someone to pick him up.

Keeping the house safe is a tough job, first i have to clean our wooden floors every other day, and check all the time for things on the floor, because anything he can reach goes straight into his mouth. The newest of the newest thing is standing holding the TV stand. He’s fallen a thousand times and banged his head hard. But i don’t think hard enough, because he keeps trying to reach the buttons or open the cabinet.

He can walk pushing his high chair or holding our hands. Most of the times you hear him crying whingeing while crawling, he crawls till he reaches you then lift one arm, meaning that he wants to be picked up. Smart kid!

He continues to love his food. Eat everything that is in front of him, no likes or dislikes, everything goes in. He is not planning to whean himself anytime soon. Loves his boob drink!

All these great things have been happening, but one thing hasn’t, and in fact i’m not really looking forward to it. Tristan is 8 months old and has no teeth, not even one little one… We are going to Thailand in 3 days and I have my fingers crossed that this tooth is going to hang on and wait another 2 weeks to come out. PLEAAASEEE!!

Yesterday was my birthday and we had a lovely day. I drove down to Wollongong to see my friend Charmaine and her daughter Ysabel. We had a lovely lunch together overlooking the sea. The afternoon was very pleasant and our babies also had a great time playing together.

The cake and candles I had on Tuesday,  as my friend Denise (Leo’s mum) surprised me on playgroup with a delicious banana cake. It was very kind of her. All the mums and bubs sang happy birthday to me. Leo was the only baby who could clap, in fact he had just learnt the day before. Tristan is not interested in the clapping business yet…

After 5 years with the same look I decided to change for my birthday. It wasn’t a huge extreme make over but it’s a little different. Hope you like it!!!

  1. Sensacional!
